The Child & Adolescent Mental Health Initiative at the 21st Pan-Cretan Medical Conference
In Heraklion, Crete, at the 21st Pan-Cretan Medical Conference, we once again stood alongside the island’s medical community — a community that comes together through this important institution to connect, exchange expertise, reflect, and collectively shape the future of care for all of us.
The Child & Adolescent Mental Health Initiative was represented by Anna Botzaki, a Psychologist and member of CAMHI's hub center in Crete. Through her presentation, she showcased how our work touches the everyday lives of children, adolescents, and families — from Crete to every corner of Greece.
She highlighted:
- the progress achieved both locally and nationally
 - CAMHI's four pillars of action (Research, Training, Open-access Tools & Resources, Youth Participation)
 - the empowerment of educators, health professionals, judicial officials, and mental health specialists through evidence-based materials and targeted trainings
 - our close collaboration with local institutions
 - and, above all, the vibrant and active engagement of the Cretan community, which makes a real difference for the island’s children and adolescents

The Pan-Cretan Medical Conference is not just another scientific meeting — it is a valuable institution that brings Crete’s physicians together, strengthens collaboration, opens dialogue, and introduces new ideas from across Greece and internationally.
Our participation affirms our commitment to standing alongside health professionals, because investing in child and adolescent mental health is an investment in our shared future.
The Child & Adolescent Mental Health Initiative (CAMHI) continues its work to strengthen children’s mental resilience and support frontline professionals, with exclusive support from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) as part of the SNF Global Health Initiative.
