How does the CAMHI supervision program work?
The CAMHI Supervision Program is designed to provide continuous support and guidance to trainees throughout the entire training period. This program ensures that trainees develop and refine their psychotherapeutic skills in a structured and supportive environment. Here's how it works:
1: Duration and Structure
- Supervision is provided during the four-month training application period.
- 2 hours weekly.
- Groups of about four trainees.
2: Focus and method
- It focuses on skill development and not case management. It concentrates on specific skills related to the psychotherapy protocol taught.
- Includes direct feedback based on discussion transcripts or one-way mirror observation (when possible).
3: Goals
- Increase knowledge of psychotherapeutic skills.
- Facilitate early screening and appropriate coordination for treatment referrals.
- Promote respectful interactions.
- Optimize effective communication skills.
4: Post-Training Support
- After the initial four-month period, therapists may continue to apply their trained interventions and receive group supervision as needed.
- Exceptional therapists with extensive clinical experience may receive additional training to become CAMHI trainer-supervisors, enabling them to disseminate the training in future years.
