CAMHI joins forces with Regeneration & Progress for the “Topical Issues of Child and Adolescent Mental Health and the Importance of Sports” discussion

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Initiative participated on Friday, September 23rd in a discussion organized in collaboration with the Sports Excellence Program operating under the scientific supervision of the 1st Department of Orthopedic Surgery of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens Medical Schools and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC). Representatives from the CAMHI hubs in Athens, Ioannina, Alexandroupoli and Crete convened at the Dome of the SNFCC to discuss “Topical issues of child and adolescent mental health and the importance of sports” .

The discussion sought to bring to the fore key issues that arise at the intersection of mental health and sports, and the CAMHI team contributed through dedicated interventions on the various, multi-layered aspects of bullying, the impact of the use of social media on the mental health of children and adolescents, its direct connection to lifestyle, as well as issues of discrimination and stigma often observed in the field of mental health.
